According to the new Seaexplorer Disruption Indicator released by the logistics giant Seaexplorer, 80% of port congestion is concentrated in North America. Record high imports from Asia have overwhelmed the container terminals there. In addition, the congestion situation will continue in the year of 2022.
Besides, many other professionals and companies also indicated that port congestion will continue in 2022. Alan Murphy, the CEO of Sea-Intelligence, port congestion and land traffic bottlenecks in the trans-Pacific region that plagued retailers and other importers for most of 2021 may continue until at least mid-2022. Container xChange, a container visibility provider, also expected severe congestion at many destination ports to continue.
